Bollo Lane – An EN 12101-2 compliant natural smoke ventilation solution

System

Dyer were asked to supply and install window drives for the apartment blocks. The certified windows form part of the natural smoke ventilation system.

The project required the operation of 16 bottom hinged open out windows to ventilate smoke from the communal corridors.

Dyer provided an EN12101-2 certified solution with Century Facades, using the Reynaers CS77 aluminum window system.

To provide the opening angle required, and achieve the free area requirements, Dyer laterally mounted a pair of drives on each vent.

Following the installation of the drives, Dyer CE marked the windows and issued a Declaration of Performance.

Drives

The KA 54/1000 BSY+ sets provide an opening force of 1000 N and 1000 mm stroke length.
Each 24v drive is laterally mounted to provide an opening angle of 57° and achieve a geometric free area of 1.57m2 through each vent.
